Wee Sal drew clear going across the top, but when challenged inside the distance she was no match for the winner. High Spy was third, just ahead of Prince Rewa, Main and Royal Melody. In the Kaiiuai Hardies. Gay Seton was joined at the stands by Parekura. Captain Hell and Master Appellant ran up lo Parekura at the turn. Gay Seton dropping back. After jumping the second to last fence Captain Bell lost his rider. Parekura beat Master Appellant very ra-ily, with Mia Acrea a moderate third and Gay Seton next. Uutana fell early. Mibinui, Prince Louis ami Hogarth began very smartly in the Motui Handicap, but in the straight Prince Louis cleared away to win very comfortably. Betterman, Kotiro I'ai and Mibinui had a good set-to for the minor ])laces. then followed Hogarth, who ilid not run on. and Tinkctoon, who was never da ngerous. Cappy led the field into the back in the Berries Memorial Handicap from The Dozer and Wildore, with High Delight tailing off. Across the top 'l'll.- Dozer took the lead and High Delight moved up. The latter nave nothing: else a chance and won from Wildore and Gold Vaals. with The Dozer. Chain Acre and F.rliek in that order. Gold Vaals dropped right back at the six furlongs, but improved his position in the straight. The Ilairini Handicap was run in a thunderstorm. Vitenient who was last away, came round the field at the turn to win well from Clooneen. who finished more solidly than Te Ilaka. Snow White was fourth, ahead of Laughing Fox. Softly led throughout and was attended most of the way in the Railway Handicap by Kadina. who made a frame effort. Town Section was always prominent and filled third bcrfh. Kinsr Roy, who w:s<s off onrly with Tooley Street, finished in ureal style to be almost in line. Xoitaro and Paxeno wrre next. Staying better than in his previous races this season, Ohmaha scored an overdue success in the Stewards' Handicap. He was alwavs handy to the leader. Lady Vixen, and inside the distance be took her measure. Mayfair Nan Vaals. Foxtoon and Royal Son put in their claim but Ohmaha hung on well. Lady Vixen and Valsome faded There was a urea' fnish between Miss Bridge and Little Rose, who were last and second last respectively at the six furlongs, for supremacy in the Matakana Hack Cup. Miss Bridge getting the decision by a-short neck. Esquire, wh > was always in the first three, retained third place, followed by Nithmount. Maxown and Dorset. Venture was well placed to the turn.
