SOLDIERS HONOURED
Residents of Tirau and Okoroire met recently to honour 11 local members of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. The function was organised by the Patriotic Committee and the speakers were the president, Air. J. W. Anderson, Mr. G. Wilson, of the Returned Soldiers' Association, Air. T. W. Aickin and Second-Lieutenant J. Alatchaere. Fach guest of honour was presented with an engraved wristlet watch. .Members of the Rangapai Tennis dub held a similar function in honour of four members of the Expeditionary Force. The gift of an engraved signet ring was made in each case.
