FIGHTING IN CHINA
CLAIMS BY JAPANESE RUSSIANS IN AIR RAID (Kecoivcd October 10, 5.5 p.m.) TOKIO, Oct. 15 The Japanese Wax* Office derides the Chinese claims of victories in Central China, and states that the Japanese have taken all fortified positions in the Chinese ninth zone, including the mountains south of Kiukiang. A Shanghai despatch says that, semi-officially, the Japanese assert that Russians manned at least one of the Chinese bombers which raided Hankow yesterday. The bodies of two Russians were found in the wreckage of a Rus-sian-built machine, and a second Russian bomber was brought down outside Japanese territory.
