KNITTING FOR SOLDIERS A .decision to commcnco work immediately upon knitting socks and woollen comforters for the British soldiers now in the trenches and the naval units iii tlio North Sea was reached at a meeting of the ladies' committee of the Red Cross Society recently. It was pointed out that tho need was more immediate in these cases, as the men concerned were facing a strenuous winter. All the committees are nowworking at full pressure with a view to having the case oi' goods despatched at the earliest moment.
