PLAZA THEATRE Ginger Rogers becomes the central figure of many hilarious situations in the brilliant comedy "Bachelor Mother," which is to continue the second week of a successful season at the Plaza Theatre to-day. She and David Niven are forced to share the embarrassment of being regarded as parents when in reality they are not, and the picturo reaches an incomparably amusing climax when Nivon's father, played by Charles Coburn, imagines lie has reached the status of a grandparent. MAJESTIC THEATRE Kay Francis, bettor known as a talented dramatic actress, proves her ability to successfully interpret light roles in tho racy comedy "Women are Like That," tho main attraction at the Majestic Theatre to-day. Put O'Brien appears opposite Kay Francis. Tho associate film is a poignant but powerful drama of the police forctf, in which Alan Curtis gives a brilliant portrayal as a young police officer who abused the authority which his position gave him. CIVIC THEATRE "Four Feathers," n film that is outstanding in many respects, will continue its season at the Civic Theatre to-day. EMBASSY THEATRE A charming and -well-told human story makes "Four Daughters," at present showing at tho Embassy Theatre, a picture of rare and wide appeal. BERKELEY. MISSION BAY The tecbnicolour film version of the famous Gilbert and Sullivan opera "The Mikado" heads the outstanding programme to be shown at the Berkeley Theatre, Mission Bay, to-night. Music is supplied by the London Symphony Orchestra. TUDOR CINEMA Janet Gaynor, Robert Montgomery and Frnnchot Tone are the principal players in the romantic comedy "Three Loves Has Nancy," which is the current attraction at the Tudor Cinema. VICTORIA THEATRE John Boles and Gladys Nolan appear in the light comedy "As Good as Married," which, together with "Conflict," adapted from the story by Jack London, will be shown at the Victoria Theatre to-night. STATE THEATRE, ONEHUNGA An exciting drama of early pioneering days in the West, "Daniel Boone" heads the programme to be shown tonight at the- State Theatre, Onehunga. "White Bondage" is the associate attraction. ASTOR THEATRE Special concessions will be available to patrons at the Astor Theatre_ tonight, when a programme comprising the films "The Accusing Finger" and "Let's Make a Night of It" will bo shown.

ST. JAMES' THEATRE The vigorous acting and singing of Nelson Eddy ensures-the success of the stirring picture "Song of the Plains," which will bo shown again at St, James' Theatre to-day. An unusually strong supporting cast includes Virginia Bruce, Edward Arnold, Victor McLuglon and Lionel Barrymore. In addition to the main attraction a varied programme of short features will be shown. TIVOLI THEATRE Guest-night concessions will be available to patrons at the Tivoli Theatre to-night, when a specially selected double-feature programme will bo shown. The main picture is a thrilling drama "Whito Hunter," in which Warner Baxter is the principal player. Jack Oakie and Ann Sothern have the loading parts in the second film, a bright comedy entitled "Super Sleuth." The supporting programme includes a coloured cartoon, a two-reel comedy and a musical revue. STRAND THEATRE Abraham Lincoln's early manhood is traced in the 20th Century-Fox picture "Young Mr. Lincoln," which heads the programme to bo shown patrons of the Strand Theatre to-day. The story of this great man's early struggles is told with simplicity of feeling, Henry Fonda's portrayal of the leading role being restrained, yet deeply impressive. "The Mind of Mr. Boeder," adapted from a story by Edgar Wallace, is the second picture. 1 PRINCESS THEATRE Guest-night concessions will be available to patrons at the Princess Theatre to-night, when an entertaining doublefeature programme will be presented. The principal attraction is a bright comedy entitled "Romance in Paris," in which leading roles are taken by Fernand Gravefc and Joan Hlondell. "Border Cafe," a thrilling melodrama, is the second film. MAYFAIR THEATRE Tho screen version of Dorothy Brandon's famous plav, "The Outsider," will once more bo shown at the Mayfair Theatre to-day. In tho titlo rolo George Sanders is responsible for an interpretation that is without flaw, whilo the charming Australian actress Mary Maguire is equally impressive in tho main supporting part. CRYSTAL PALACE AND RIALTO With Tyrone Power and Alice Fave in the leading roles, the outstanding 20th Century-Fox production "Alexander's Ragtime Band" is the principal attraction at the Crystal Palace and Rialto Theatres to-night. Don Amcche heads the supporting cast. Short films comprise the associate programme. GREY LYNN CINEMA Barbara Stanwyck, Joel McCrea and Lloyd Nolan appear in the drama "Student Doctors Can't Take Money," which heads the entertaining programme to be shown to-night at the Grey Lynn Cinema. The associate picture is a comedy, "Wives Never Know." STAR CINEMA Spencer Tracy, several times winner of the coveted Academy Award, and prominent player in "Captains Couiageons" and "Boys Town." heads the cast in the tense drama "Whipsaw," which is the main film on the outstanding programme to lie shown to-day at the Star Cinema. "The Unguarded Hour" is the other attraction. STATE THEATRE Deanna Durbin appears in the delightful musical picture "Mad About Music," which heads tho programme to he shown to-night at the State Theatre. "Strango Faces" is the associate attraction. BRITANNIA THEATRE The film version of George Bernard Shaw's brilliant comedy "Pygmalion," with Wendy Hiller and Leslie Howard in the main roles, will be shown at the Britannia Theatre to-night. "Sudden Money," a comedy, is also on the programme.

REGENT THEATRE Wallace Beery is associated with Robert Taylor in tho rousing melodrama "Stand L T p and Fight, which is tho current attraction at the Regent Theatre. PRINCE EDWARD THEATRE A bright musical comedy, "Swing High, Swing Low," in which the principal players are Carole Lombard and Fred Mac Murray, and a comedy with extremelv witty dialogue, "Three Married Men," comprise the programme to be presented at the Prince Edward Theatre to-night, when guest-night concessions will be available. Roscoe Karnes, William Frawlev and Mary Bryan appear in the second film. STATE THEATRE, DEVONPORT A thrilling melodrama with touches of comedv, "The Great Hospital terv" is the principal attraction at the State Theatre. Devonport, to-night.
