THREAT IN SYDNEY r ANONYMOUS LETTER ARCHBISHOP WARNED POLICE PRECAUTIONS By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright SYDNEY, Feb. 10 A police guard has been placed at St. Mary's Cathedral following a threat to bomb it. The threat was made to Archbishop Kelly in an anonymous letter, which stated that the bombing was to be a reprisal for the bomb outrages in ' England. The writer of the letter declared that his intended action was directed against the Irish people. Although the police are inclined to believe the letter was sent by an irresponsible person, they have adopted very extensive precautions. All wireless patrols and police cars have been ordered to keep the Cathedral under surveillance. MORE EXPLOSIONS INCENDIARY BOMB FOUND THREAT TO TIMBER YARD QUICK ACTION BY BRIGADE LONDON. Feb. B Two brown paper parcels containing incendiary matter caused minor explosions in coal bays at King's Cross. The police are investigating. Charles MacCarthy was charged and remanded on charges of being in possession of numerous explosive objects. The fire brigade extinguished a smouldering incendiary bomb in a timber yard near Edgware Road. Little damage was done.
