MOERINSVILLE VALUES COMPETITION FOR PORKERS EAST COAST SHEEP SOUGHT At the weekly Morrinsvillp stock sale the Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports a.good yarding of fat sheep, with competition for botli ewe and wether mutton on a par with last week. A large entry of store lambs realised satisfactory prices. The advertised entry of breeding ewes from the Gisborne and East Coast districts again attracted attention from a large bench of buyers, and for all classes of aged sheep quotations were fully up to last week's prices.

Two-tooths, however, were not so popular and showed a slight decline in value. The best price obtained for five-year-olds was 22s 2d ; which is the highest paid for fiveyear Gisborne ewes this season. There was a medium yarding of beef, with a full entry of boner cows and potter bulls. Prices for all classes of cattlo were on a par with the lasit sale. An increased yarding of all classes of fat pigs came forward, the entry compriiiing a good proportion of porkers. No top-weight baconers were yarded. Competition for baconers was steady, values being on a par with late rates, with porkers selling in advance of Inst week quotations. Store and weaner pigs wero penned in large numbers, and, although weaners were dull of salo, the entry changed hands at satisfactory prices. LARGE WELLSFORD ENTRY [from our own correspondent] WELLSFORD, Friday Thero was a large yarding of all classes of cattle at the sale held at Wellsford by Alfred Buekland and Sons, Limited. There was a good attendance of both local and Auckland dealers, and practically a . total clearance was effected under the hammer, A large offering of potter bulls was taken by exporting companies at prices based on the recent schedulo, heavy Jerseys and Shorthorns bringing up to £8 10s. Cow and heifor beef of all breeds filled a largo numbor of pens and met good competition from both local and Auckland dealers. Boner and killable cows also sold to a good demand to freezing company buyers. Only a few dairy cows and heifers wore yarded and any close to profit were bought at good prices for town supply farmers. Interest was maintained in in-calf hoifers of both Jersey and Shorthorn breeds, i2O-month-old Jerseys duo in July bringing up to £3 17s Gd, while similar Shorthorn heifers realised £3 10s. Competition at Mangawhare was on a par with late rates. Small lots were offered in all sections of the Matawhero stock sale to-day aud the lack of competition in the store sheep section resulted in a decline in values. Only 10 fat cattle were yarded. Station cows that might have been better finished made from £5 to £5 X-ls; threo Herefords requiring finishing, £5 14s; four similar, £5; three Herefords, not heavy, £5; two good average Jerseys, £4 Bs. In a very small yarding of fat sheep ewes of good Quality sold from 9s Od to 10s, with one pen at fls 4d and Southdown two-tooths at 14s (id. Heavy Border Leicester lambs made 22s 6d. with Southdowns to 17s Sd. About 2000 store sheep came forward and were offered largely in small lots. The yarding comprised chiefly cull lambs and owes and the sale was very slack, with values easier. Aged ewes sold to 8s Td for fat and forward, with poor sorts at low figures. Best lambs made 12s, with good Southdowns to lis 7d. Good ewe lambs made 13s Id and 14s. Four-tooth wethers made 14s 7d; two-tooth, only ordinary quality, 9s 7d to lis Od.

WAIHI VALUES ADVANCE The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports a full yarding of cattle at Waihi. The entry included a number of heavy second fat cows-, for which competition was firm, with values slightly in advance of the last sale's quotations. Bidding for a full offering of both boner cows and potter bulls was particularly keen and in this section also values for all classes were firmer. There was a good yarding of fat pigs, including a fair proportion of heavy baconers. Competition throughout for all classes was good and late quotations were fully maintained.
