MR. LANG'S POLICY
FORTY-HOUR WEEK ABOLITION OF WAGES TAX SYDNEY, Feb. 10 The Labour leader, Mr. J. T. Lang, addressing a conference of Australian Labour Party's electorate branch presidents, party officials and Labour members of Parliament, disclosed the main points that would be included in his election policy speech. These were:— The abolition of the wages tax, "if tinemployment is as low as the Premier claims it to be"; a 40-hour week by legislation; a higher basic wage by legislation; and the introduction of legislation to break up large estates.
