Mrs. N. R. Alexander, of Paritai Drive, Orakei, has returned from a motoring holiday to Wellington.
Mrs. Purvis Bremer, and Mrs. A. E. Symes (Waverley) and Mrs. Garsia (Nauru Island) are at the Grand Hotel.
Mrs. B. 'M. Prendergast, Wilding Avenue, Epsom, is spending a holiday with her sister, Mrs. G. J. Foy, of Te Aroha.
Mrs. Sehvyn Morris, of Remuera Road, lias returned from Lake Rotoiti, where she was the guest of Mrs. L. P. Leary.
Miss George, of New Plymouth, is at present visiting her nephew, Dr. Chisholm McDowell, MaeMurray Road, Remuera.
Mrs. E. Hood and Mrs. Kenneth Skelton, of Auckland, will leave by the limited express to-night for Wellington and Christchurch.
Mrs. A. B. Jackson, St. George's Bay Road, and her niece, Mrs. McKay, have returned home fom a motor tour of the. Rotorua "district.
Mrs. Owen Monckton and Miss Nan Monckton, of Waingaro, who have been visiting Mrs. L. C. Rathbono, Victoria Avenue, Remuera, have returned home.
Mrs. E. King (Newcastle, N.S.W.), Mrs. B. Masters (Christchurch), Mrs. G. Aitken and Mrs. J. McGruer (Feeding) and Mrs. G. McLeod (Tauranga) are at the Central Hotel.
Mrs. Selwyn. Robinson and family have, returned for several months to their home in Mountain Road, Epsom, pending alterations to their newly acquired home in Owen's Road.
Sister Mary Lowson, a member of the Australian medical unit which has been in Spain for about a year, will arrive in Christchurch on Saturday. She will be the guest of Mrs. F. W. Anderson, Opawa.
Mrs. W. E. Clayton (London), Mrs. P. T. English (Ocean Island), Mrs. E. Lacey (Nauru), Madame de Lange (Wellington), Mrs. D. S. Singer (Whangarei) and Mrs. W. Frerichs (Te Kuiti) are at the Station Hotel.
Airs. F. R. Dudley has arrived in Wellington from Auckland, where she had been staying with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. David Cowie, of Remuera. Mrs. Dudley will spend a few days in Wellington before returning to her home in Christchurch.
Miss A. Flaherty, Adelaide, who has been on a tour of New Zealand, has been the guest of Mrs. N. Fitzgerald, Makotuku, and is now visiting Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy, Maraetotara. Miss Flaherty will represent the Adelaide Catholic Women s League at the Centenary celebrations in Auckland.
Miss Catriona Mac Lean, of Ardgour, Scotland, who has been the guest of Lady Wakehurst, Government House, Sydney, has arrived in Christchurch. and is the guest of Mrs. George Helmore, Millbrook, Fendalton. Later she will visit Mrs. Milburn, at Taupo. Miss Maclean travelled to Australia from London a few months ago with Lady Wakehurst's daughter.
A pleasant afternoon was held by members of St. Jude's branch of the Mothers' Union at Avondale on Wednesday to farewell Mrs. Walter Smith, who is leaving this month for a tour of "the United Kingdom and South Africa. The Rev. E. C. Good presented the guest of honour with a leatherbound travelling clock on behalf of the union, of which she was president.
