TUAI POWER STATION
THIRD TURBINE UNIT [by telegraph—own correspondent] GISBORNE, Thursday A third turbine unit for the production of hydro-electric power at Tuai will be installed during the latter part of 1938, according to advico received in Wairoa. Arrangements have been made to take delivery of the machinery about the middle of the year. Tho construction of the pipeline which is to serve this unit is going ahead well. Instead of tlip riveting of the pipes at the joins, as in the case of tho first two lines from tho surge chamber to the power house, tho third line will be welded, diminishing to some extent surface friction opposed to tho flow of water.
