SPECIAL AUCKLAND FORECAST FAIR, WARM AND HUMID The Government meteorologist issued to the Hekai.d last evening the follonv ing special forecast for the Auckland Province:—Light to moderate but freshening north-easterly winds, . The weather is likely to be fair, warm and humid, but with cloud gradually increasing, and rain developing before the end of the week. Seas slight to moderate, but later rising somewhat on the east coast.

YESTERDAY'S WEATHER Auckland. —After a sunny forenoon a hazo overspread the sky and clouds gathered later, with a change of wind from south-east to fresh north-east. Temperatures were warm, the maximum being 80 degrees and the minimum 04 degrees. Barometric pressure fell slightly.

Barometer, midnight, steady .. 29.9518, Midnight, Wednesday .. ,30.05ia, Wellington.—The weather was fine and verv warm, and at times cloudy, with a light north-westerly wind. The minimum temperature on Wednesday night was 57.9 degrees, and the maximum yesterday 77.8 degrees. At 3.30 p.m. the temperature was 75.0 degrees and the barometer reading 29.9 lin. : Christchurch. The weather was again warm and humid but not so 6unny as on recent days. The maximum temperature was 69 degrees and i v fresh to strong easterly wind - blew throughout the day. The barometer at 5 p.m. registered 29.881 in. and vu falling.

Dunedin.—Bright sunshine prerailed throughout the day, the maximum temperature being 74 degrees. There "was a light south-easterly air, but this had little effect on the temperature. During the middle of the day the bare- , meter fell slightly to 29.95 in. and then showed a rising tendency.
