MURDERER IN COURT
ALLEGED VALUELESS CHSQUE ["BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] TIMARU, Thursday In the Police Court this morning, Randall Reginald David Smith, sentenced to death last week for the murder of William Gaby, the Arundel storekeeper who wan killed on September 10, was chargecP with obtaining money and goods, of a total value of £8 16s 7d, at Seacliff, on September 13, by means of a valueless cheque. On the .application of Detective-Ser-geant E. M. Thomas, Smith was remanded to appear at Christchurcb on February 17.
