FIRE BRIGADES MEET
BAY 'OF PLENTY GROUP [by TEIjKGItAPII —owx correspondent] WHAKATANE, Thursday Delegates from. Opotiki, Rotorua, I'auranga, Te Puke and Whakatane were present at the annual meeting of tho Bay of Plenty Fire Brigades' Association) held in Whakatane last night. Superintendent Wilks, of Te Puke, was ■elected president, and Mr. F. Brigga, of Rotorua, was appointed secretary. The meeting approved the programme submitted by the Te Puke Brigado for the 1938 contest, which is to be held at Te Puke on Labour Day iu conjunction with tho town's diamond jubilee. It was decided to hold the 1939 contest at Whakatane. •
