COMBINED BANKS

ANNUAL STAFF BALL A POPULAR EVENT GAY SCENE PRESENTED The Petor Pan Cabaret was gay with the sound of music and bright with the colours of many pretty frocks last night when several hundred people attended the annual hall of the staffs of the combined banks of Auckland. This event is one keenly looked forward to by the staffs of all the banks and their friends and last night's function was one of the most successful yet held. The cabaret was attractively decorated with hanging baskets of fern which were suspended round the outer edge of the ballroom floor, while tubs of small shrubs and graceful palms were placed at different vantage points. The glittering silver sign "L.S.D." suspended- at intervals from the ceiling was an appropriate feature of the decorative scheme.
