FRANKTON QUOTATIONS j GOOD DEMAND FOR BEEF .. FAT PIGS KEENLY SOUGHT [from our own corivespoxdext] HAMILTON, Tuesday A heavy yarding of fat sheep was, entered at the Frankton saleyards today. Competition for wethers was not as keen as last week and there was a consequent drop in values, but the-. . demand was better for fat ewes and prices were well sustained. Fat lambs • / sold at recent values, while breeding - ewes were not so keenly sought after .. and prices showed a slightly easing - tendency.

A full yarding of all classes of cattlo came forward, with a better entry of ox beef, which comprised mostly good-quality well-finished cattle. Competition was particularly keen and values showed a marked improvement on recent sales. An extra prime bullock sold at £l4, the highest price paid at Frankton for some considerable time. A full entry of both cow and heifer beef also sold under keen competition, values showing an advance on last week's quotations. A small yarding of fat pigs and an average entry of stores and wcaners. Competition for fat pigs was again keen and late high rates were fully maintained, while stores and wcaners met with a go.od demand, selling at values slightly in advance of those at the last sale. - - •
