WORK AT TAKANINI FLASHBY REVEALS SPEED With tho poles out loft., the track being slightly dryer than formerly, some interesting gallops were witnessed at Takanini yesterday morning. Those to come under special notice were Fox Moth and tho maiden Flashby. Silver Glow (Smith) was of no use to Highborn (Stratton) over five furlongs run in 1.9, the first two taking 265. Although they finished together, Highborn, with much the heavier weight, was going comfortably. High Tea (Smith) and Disturbed (O'Brien) ran half a mile to the onefurlong post in 565, taking 27is for the first quarter. , , _ , Sub-Editor (Bartle) was shaded by Miss Lovelock (Smith) in 55 2-ss, taking 41 4-5s over tho last three furlongs. Miss Lovelock is , improving greatly, while for a jumper Sub-Editor shows pace. Nautic Song' did pace work, while Sir Robin (Walters), who is to bo propared for early two-year-old engagements, moved along over three furlongs at three-quarter pace. . Flashby (Curwin) had his first test over two furlongs and recorded 25 l-ss. Flashby is a coming three-year-old gelding by Surveyor. Fox Moth (Curwin) ran from the seven to tho four-furlong post in 37 2-ss,- the last two in 255.

Twohill, who is at present attending tho Trotting Conference in Wellington. This means that a second day's trotting can bo held at tho Thames this year.
