EPSOM TRACK WORK KEWPIE'S TRIUMPH'S TEST PREPARING FOR ADDINGTON For the first time for several weeks tho dirt track at Epsom was fit for trials yesterday, but the footing was dead after recent rain. The only work of note was a two miles test by Kewpie's Triumph, who was sent the Addington way round, and kept on the centre of the track. After going half-a-mile in 1.16, Kewpie's Triumph (K. Bell) was joined by Kewpie's Crest (J. Gee), who jumped away several lengths in front. As lie completed the next mile in 2.2-1. Kewpio's Triumph headed Kewpie's Crest, but he immediately started to loaf and in spite of the vigorous driving of Bell, took his time over the last half, to finish the journey in 4.56. Kewpie's Triumph paced very solidly in (ho middle stages when chasing Kewpie's Crest, who went well for nine furlongs, and was then eased. Although arrangements have not been completed, it is probable that Kewpie's Triumph will leave for Addington on Monday, under the care of Bell, who will drive him in his races. Resides being entered for the chief two miles races, Kewpie's Triumph is engaged in the 2.10 mile and 2.43 mile and n quarter, for which his mark is 2.9 and 2.42 respectively. Mountain Dell (L. Mitchell) was strapped up and given strong work over throe circuits, but was not required to go better than a 2.30 gait at any stage. She is in excellent heart. Silver Watch (L. J. Mahoney) was given a try-out in saddle, but being unhoppled, was not, sent t at any speed. Two newcomers at Epsom are Blandford, who has joined A. \V. Broughton's stable, and a fine-looking thrce-ycar-old colt by Great Parrish from the bighl.v-brcd dam of Nelson's Glory. Like his half-sister, the colt favours tho trotting gait. He is in P. M. Morrison's stable. Blandford is a five-vear-old by Worthy Bond from Fancy Pointer, He was bred a;, Mardella Stud Farm, and the last two seasons raced successfully in the South Island in the ownership of Mr. D. I?. Novell. He is assessed on 2.18, 2.54, 3.30 and 4.44. W. Willetts gave the three Gumdigger pacers useful work separately and each paced with freedom. They are rounding into shape nicely since being stooped along in their work. The thrre-yenr-old Dean Parrish (J. Gee) gave a good display over a couple of circuits, and Mr. E. H. Cutfksey's three-year-olds. Spcssiva and Lvn Worthy, driven by A. Brvce, also shaned pleasingly. The latest to join the active brigade are Autumn Lou and War Girl. Both mares appear to have benefited bb a result of theii' short let-up.
