HUGE EXPENDITURE
RECOVERY AND RELIEF ' AMERICA'S , PROGRAMMES (Received July 19, 5.25 p.m.) WASHINGTON. July 18 The Treasury Department announces that the recovery and relief programmes of the United States have involved an expenditure to date of 10,081,000,000 dollars. Of that sum about 1,000,000,000 dollars were spent during the Hoover administration and the balance under the " new deal."
