PARK ROAD TRAFFIC
WARNINGS AGAINST NOISE An inspection of Park Road, near the Auckland Hospital, was made by the Mayor, Mr. Krnest Davis, the chairman of the Legal and By-laws Committee, Mr. W. T. Anderton, and the sicting-cbief traffic inspector. Mr. P. Bland, as a result of numerous complaints regarding noise and traffic conditions. The Mayor subsequently stated that instructions had been given for the erection of suitable notice boards in the locality drawing attention, to the "silence zone" and the limitation of speed. One notice would read "Silence jione—drive quietly." and the other "Hospital—ls miles an hour." After the boards had been erected the traffic department would ensure that the instructions were carried out. Mr. Davis, jidded that, as a part of thp locality was within the Newmarket borough, a conference would be called ait an early date with the Newmarket Borough Council, with a view to seeming uniformity in dealing with the matter.
