ALGERIA AND BACK
- ENGLISHMAN'S FLIGHT RETURN TRIP IN ONE DAY (Received June 18, 5.25 p.m.) LONDON, June 18 Captain E. W. Percival returned to Croydon from Oran, Algeria, at 6.-30 p.m. yesterday, after averaging 160 miles an hour on the outward flight and 156 miles an hour on the return trip, both, on the same day. The airman says he did a little shopping at Oran and sold an aeroplane to a Frenchman. He flew all the way by compass and was only half a mile off his course when he reached his destination. Day trips to Africa would be as commonplace soon as trips to Margate. The trip to Oran cost £lO.
