TO-DAY'S PUBLICATION THE 1935 ALL BLACKS SNOW DAMAGE IN SOUTH Excellent portraits of the 29 players selected for the All Black Rugby team to tour Great Britain thk season form an outstanding two-page feature of this week's issue of The Weekly News, which is published to-day. The frontispiece is also devoted to the subject of Rugby and depicts incidents in the final trial match at Wellington. Unusual and picturesque snow scenes from various parts of the South Island and at Tongariro National Park are published in the issue. These are attractively featured on the centre doublepage and on other pages. Photographs of special interest show the damage caused to telegraph wires and poles by tho heavy snowfalls in Canterbury, skiing in Haglev Park, Christchurch, rail and motor traffic hindered by the snow, and a football match played on a snowcovered ground. The winners of tho Plunket baby photographic competition make pleasing studies, while other subjects include the visit of the King and Queen to the Chelsea flower show, weddings and social items, and capping day celebrations of Massey Agricultural College. A special feature of the letterpress section is an illustrated article ing the Tarawera eruption, the 49th anniversary of which occurred last ■week. The fascinating series by Sir James Jeans is continued with a discission of tho wonders of tho sky. Dorothy L. Savers, well-known author of detective fiction, writes on the murder of Julia Wallace in th's week's crime mystery. Another outstanding item is a short story by Karel Capek, the noted Czech dramatist and author. In the women's pages appears the first of a new series of articles giving practical advice on home dressmaking problems, while the agricultural section includes a discussion of the menace of artificial wool.
