ACCOMMODATION PROBLEM / TUBERCULOSIS TREATMENT Various matters raised by the medical superintendent of the Auckland Hospital, Dr. J. W. Craven, in his annual report to the Hospital Board, presented at the meeting on May 21, were considered by the board in committee at a, meeting on June 4. The decisions were reported to an open meeting of the board yesterday. In his report, Dr. Craven stressed the nedcl for further accommodation at the hosipital, and it has been decided to ask him for a more detailed report on tilt!' matter.

Arising out of the medical superintendent's comments on the treatment of tuberculosis patients and the urgent necid for the new chest hospital planned by the board, it was decided to empower a sub-committee, comprising Mrs. M. M. Dreaver, Messrs. W. Wallace, E. H. Potter and J. H. Kinnear, the Rev. W, C. Wood and Dr. E. B. Gunson, in conjunction with the staff executive committee and the tuberculosis officer, to consider a suitable locality and the cla.ss of accommodation necessary for this proposed building. lit was also decided to discuss with tho Director-General of Health, Dr. M. H, Watt, on his next visit to Auckland, proposals for providing the chest hospital and equipment for heliotherapy and for the taking over of St. Helen's Hospital by the board.
