LAND SETTLEMENT
Sir, —In the Crown Land Guide, corll rected to June 1, 1932, issued by direction of the Hon. E. A. Ransom, Minister of Lands, I find a paragraph that refers to settlement of lands in kauri gum districts. This says applicants may select their own areas, and if the application is approved by the Land Board and tli© Minister, the survey is carried out bv tha Crown, free of cost to the selector. Ap. plicants for this class of land at the present time (and for some time past) havs to pay the department anything from £5 to £lO toward the cost of survey. Malik lloggap.d.
