OFFER OF LANDING GROUND SIXTY ACRES AT TAHUNA t [FJIOM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] TE AROHA, Tuesday Proposals for acquiring a new landing ground were considered at the annual meeting of the To Aroha Aero Club last evening. Dr. G. Cook said the field at Waihou used by the club for dual tuition was totally unsuited for a first series of solo flights by pupils. It was not'largo enough and the approaches were not of the best. Mr. P. Jones, of Tahuna, said there was an area of 60 acres at Tnhuna owned by Mr. 11. K. Whitechurch, who had expressed his willingness to ( leave the field clear of st<?ck 011 any occasion when the club desired to uso it. It now only awaited inspection by Flight-Lieutenant D. M. Allen, instructor to the Auckland Aero Club, and would be available at any time. Mr. B. Ranby said Mr. E. R. Boucher, captain of the Auckland Aero Club, had stated that, if the field was made available, solo work would be done in the district. The matter was referred to the executive to make inquiries and have the field inspected. The showed a credit balance of £SB. The following officers were elected: —• President, Mr. R. Coulter; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. R. 11. Galloway, W. J. Andrews, G. Page, S. Davi.es, R. C. Willis, L. C. Mackie, A. D. Wallace, J. D. McKay, G. Goodfellow, P. Jones, J. M. Allen, H. K. Whitechurch, and Dr. W. R. Lawrenco and Dr. G. Cook; club captain, Mr. B. Ranby; vice-captain, Mr. R, Willis; secretary, Dr. G. Cook; treasurer, Mr. F. S. Board; auditor, Mr. J. M. Cochrane; honorary solicitor, Mr. G. H. Nicholls; executive committee, Messrs. F. S. Board, R. Willis. L. C. Mackie, T. Carroll, B. L. Orr, C. Kingsley-Smith, B. /A. Wade, J. Lord, the president, the secretary and the club captain. A recommendation by the committee that the club should affiliate with the Auckland Aero Club was deferred for later consideration. Plans for a hangar to house two aeroplanes at Waihou were submitted and » were referred to the executive with power to net. ■
