NEW ZEALANDERS AT HOME.

Mr. C. L. Wilson (Auckland) arrived in March by the Niagara-, having travelled via Vancouver, Toronto, Niagara and New York. He is on a financial mission to the Mother Country in connection with the New Zealand hemp industry* Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Pacey, their daughter, Miss Jean Pacey, and then' niece, Miss Georgina Laurenson—-all of Palmerston North—arrived by the last trip of the Rotoruii. Thoy were all laid up with influenza for a time, but hava now recovered. Mr. Pacey was. present; at the annual dinner of the Produce Importers' Association. As chairwoman of the ladies' committee of the Girls' Flock House Organisation Mrs. Pacey has been in touch with girl emigration movements.! Easter was spent with friends iu Isortu Devon and at the end of April the travellers are going to Lancashire, thence they, will motor through' the Eastern Counties and Scotland. Later they will travel to the Continent and will spend June iri Switzerland. Auckland may bo reached, via America, early in September. Mr. and Mrs. Q. W. Allsop (Auckland) have been for three months on the Con*, tinent. They went through France, Switzerland, Italy,_ Spain and Portugal., Being the winter time they did not tak9 their motor-car —the car, by the way, which they have used for their transit in everv country since they left New Zealand. Jn Switzerland they made their headquarters at Wengen and then worked through Italy to Naples, going back to Genoa. At Barcelona Mr. Allsop saw a bull fight, and he was. also interested to note the progress of .Rugby football in. Spain and Portugal. So much is the ' game appealing to the populace' that more people now watch Rugby, and attendances at the bull fights are decreasing. On April 20 Mr. and Mrs. Allsop will leave for Quebec and they intend spending six months in Canada and the United States, reaching Auckland in November. By that time they will have been away from New Zealand for nearly 2» years. >; - . '•
