PROPOSED CONFERENCE.
MR. HOOVER'S PROPOSAL. PROBABLY THIS SUMMER. (Received May 7, 11.45 p.m.) United Service. NEW YORK, May 6. The Washington correspondent of the New York World says there is a strong probability that the President, Mr. Herbert Hoover, will call a confercnco of United States, French, Japanese, British and Italian naval experts to work out the formula suggested by Sir. Hugh Gibson, as a basis for the next Disarmament Conference. Nothing will be, done before the conclusion of the general election in Britain, but it is thought in Washington that the meeting will be held this summer.
