DIVIDEND OF 8 PER CENT.

DISTRIBUTION OF SHARES.

.ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL' YEAR.

The "directors of Bycroft, Limited, in the report to bo presented to shareholders at the annual meeting on May 15, state that the company has enjoyed another successful year. Payment of the usual dividend of 8 per cent, absorbing £7260, of which half was distributed in November, is recommended. The directors further recommend that the unallotted balance of 9250 shares in the capital account bo now issued paid up to £-1, by transferring £9250 from the appropriation account, and that a bonus of shares be allotted to each shareholder in the proportion of one share for each 10 now held.

The company's net profits have been steadily rising during the last three years, that for the year ended on March 31 last being £268 greater than in the previous year. -

The directors state that ample provision has been made for depreciation of buildings, machinery, plant and motors, equal to £3199, while all these assets have been maintained in a state of high efficiency. Income tax on the year's profit is included in the sundry creditors' account.

Mr. G. R. Hutchinson is the retiring director, and he has been nominated for a further term.

The previous distribution of bonus shares was, made in 1926, when £8250 was.transferred from the appropriation to the capital account, increasing the capital to £90,750. With the present capitalisation, the capital will bo £IOO,OOO, in addition to which the company has a reserve of £20,321.

KiQES AND SKINS SALES. EASING IN THE PRICES. Cow and ox hides eased from par to one farthing a pound at the fortnightly sales conducted at the Auckland Chamber of Commerce yesterday. All grade's were aflected. There was little alteration in sheepskins, but an improvement in the length of the wool on sheepskins coming forward was noted, this being a seasonal feature. Tallow and horse hair sold at about current values. Bones in good dried condition sold on a slightly better market at £5 10s to £5 12s 6d a ton. Is 10d to Is lid per lb.; mixed, Is Gd to la 8d: shorts, lOd to Is 3d: mane, 9d to 9}d. Bones, good dried condition, £5 12s Gd a ton.

PEDIGREE JERSEY SALES.

GOOD DEMAND IN WAIKATO. [by telegram:.—own correspondent.] HAMILTON, Tuesday. A successful sale of pedigree Jersey stock was conducted to-day by Wright, Stephenson and Company, Limited, on behalf of Mr. fc\ J. Saxby, of Ohaupo Road, Hamilton. The cattle comprised members of Mr. Saxby's Alfalfa herd. There was a large attendance of buyers from all over the province and bidding was brisk from the outset. The proceeds aggregated £4855, 21 bulls averaging 595gns„ and 53 beifers averaging 68gns. Mr. H. Naylor. Te Rapa, paid the top price, 227p;n5., for the bull Alfalfa Royalty. Mr. W. H. Miers. Rototuna. paid 200gns. for the heifer His Lordship's Choice, and 145gns for the heifer Notle's Champion.

KEEN BIDDING AT PUTARURU. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports having held a successful sale of Mr. R. J; Wilson's "Ebor" pedigree Jersey cattle at Putaruru on Monday . There was a good attendance of buyers and bidding waa keen throughout, a total clearance of the 34 head offered being effected, the average price being 32gns. The top price of the day, SOgns., was paid for the cow Mystery's Secret, by Mr. •T. A Sanders, of Piako, Morrinsville, who also purchased the following lots:—Ebor'e Violet. 27gns.; Ebor's Marie, 45gns.; Ebor's Oona, 40gns.; Ebor's Martha. 2Sgns.: Flo of 0.K., 30pns,; Te Aute Lassie. 45gns. Spring Hill Briar sold on account of Mr. J. W. Bcholes. Lichfield, was acquired by the same purchaser at 25gns. The next best price, that of GOgns., was paid by Mr. R.
