TO-DAY'S WEATHER.
HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST.
TIIO following weather, forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by 'Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening : —Fair to cloudy weather is indicated, with mild temperatures and humid conditions. A scattered rainfall is expected, North Auckland districts being chiefly affected. Mainly fair to fine in southern and western aroas. Easterly winds, moderate to strong, veering to south temporarily. Seas rough, though moderating, on the east coast. The disturbance which has been operating in the north is now passing eastward, and conditions should show a temporary improvement. Another depression of an intense naturo is approaching from the west. Barometer, midnight,, falling .. J?'®®!' 1 " Midnight. Monday .. .. 30.00 in. GOVERNMENT REPORT.
The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—A rather deep depression extends from Tasmania to southern Now Zealand. The northern cyclone is now centred north of the Bay of Plenty, but is losing intensity. Indications are for moderate to strong east lo north winds north of Kawhia- and East Cape; elsewhere freshening northorlies, reaching gale force at times in Foveaux Strait. Seas rather rough north <.•!" East Cape and rising south of Cook Strait; otherwise smooth to moderate. Winds becoming northerly in the eastern Tasrnan Sea, strong in the southern portion and freshening in the central and northern parts, with rather rough seas. Still some scattered rain north of Kawhia and Gisborne, but improving temporarily elsewhere. Fair at first, but becoming unsettled and showery in western and southern districts of the South Island. Warm temperatures.
