fr.Y TEUi'GIIAFH. —OWN COR R ESrONDENT. ] "WAIUKU, Tuesday. The Waiuku Chamber of Commerce met Jast evening, the president, Mr. J. D. Chalmers, presiding. Mr. C. 0. Roscoe was appointed secretary of the chamber in succession to Mr. Harris, wlio liad removed to Ilotorua. Jhe president and Mr. A. M. Barriball were appointed to join with the chairman of the Waiuku Town Board, Mr. J. J. .A. James, as a deputation to the Minister of Lands, Hon. G. W. Forbes, at Waiuku on Monday next, to request a Government, subsidy toward the cost of erecting the Massey pavilion at the Massrv Park. Advice was received that the halfyearly conference of chambers of commerce in the Franklin district was to be held at Fukekohe on Wednesday, May 22. The president, Mr, A. Dnthie, and the .secretary were appointed to represent the Waiuku chamber at the conference.
