ALLEGATION OF FRAUD.
PURCHASE MADE BY CHEQUE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Tuesday. A charge of obtaining goods and money by means of a valueless cheque was preferred against Leslie Charles Burke in the Police Court to-day. It was stated that accused purchased a fountain pen for £2 2s 6d and tendered a cheque for £lO and received the change. On the application of the police a remand was granted until May 15. Accused made no application for bail. It- was stated that, there would probably be other charges laid against him.
