DAMAGE BY BUSH FIRE.
TIMBER STACKS DESTROYED.
HARD FIGHT WITH FLAMES. PERTH, Jan. 23. Damage estimated at between £50,000 and £70.000 was done by a bush firo which enveloped the greater part of North Dandalup, near Pinjarra. The flames, driven by a fierce. wind, consumed large stacks of timber. All tho inhabitants of tho district assisted in stopping tho progress of the firo by means of a break.
After a strenuous fight that lasted .all night they managed to prevent the fire from crossing into thousands of acres of cleared country, and thus saved their homes.
