WEDDINGS.

The wedding was celebrated recently at St. Cuthbert's Church, Eketahuna, of Alice May, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Tripe, of Eketahuna, to Daniel Race, younger son of Mr W. R. Godfrey and the late Mrs. Godfrey. The ceremony was performed by Archdeacon, Johnson, of Wellington, uncle of the bride, assisted by the Rev. G. Watson, and Mrs. F. G. Bath played the wedding music. The bride entered the church which was decorated with lilies and massed hydrangeas, with her father, followed by three bridesmaids. Her sleeveless frock was simply fashioned of rich ivory satin, the tightlyfitting bodice coming to a point into a circular cut,' flared skirt with full, uneven hemline longer at the back. Her veil of Limerick lace was worn cap fashion and was long enough to form a short train. Small posies of orange blossom over the ears and a half-circlet at the back kept the veil in place, and a sheaf of Madonna lilie3 tied with satin ribbon streamers, was carried. The chief bridesmaid was Miss Ruth White, who wore a frock of mauve satin. Miss Peggy Lowes and Miss Elizabeth Murray-Aynsley were also in attendance on the bride, and wore pink and blue satin frocks respectively. All three wore felt hats swathed with georgette to match their frocks, and carried posies of sweet peas. All the frocks were cut on exactly similar lines to that of the bride. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. R. Godfrey, as best man, and by Mr, R. W. Marshall and Mr. V. Tripe, the bride's brother, as groomsmen. Mr. P. Page acted as usher.

The marriage took place in St. Matthew's Church yesterday evening of Miss Eset Annie Davidson, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Davidson, of Ponsonby, to Sergeant Edwin Kearns Bezar, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Bezar, of Manukau Road, Epsom. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of white satin charmeuse made with a long crossover bodice caught with a cluster of orange blossom and inset with a V-shaped vest of silver lace.- The full skirt was bordered with the same lace and over it the long embroidered tulle veil, arranged cap-fashion, with a circlet of orange blossoms, fell to form a train. She carried a bouquet of white dahlias, sweet peas, roses and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were her sister, Miss Gwen Davidson, and Miss Eileen Bezar. The former wore a frock of orchid mauve gsorgette with an overdress of cream lace, worked in tones of mauve, rose and blue, and finished with a large silk rose. A Russian cap of mauve pleated tulle caught with a circlet of tiny mauve flowers and long ends falling over one side and at the neck, was also worn, anrl she carried a bouquet of mauve-shaded dahlias, gerbeias and sweet peas. The second bridesmaid's frock was of turquoise blue georgette with tunic of gold lace caught with gold ribbon at the waist and ornamented with a gold rose. A Russian cap in blue pleated tulle was also worn, and she carried a bouquet in autumn colouring. The best man was Lieutenant C. T. Manning, and the groomsman Sergeant J. W. Gee. Canon Grant Cowen performed the ceremony. As the bride and brulogroom left the church they passed through a guard of honour formed by a full group of the latter's fellow noncommissioned officers of the 20th (Lights Battery, N.Z.A., and two buglers played portion of the general salute while the battery pipers and drummer played them to their car. Mrs. Davidson, the bride's mother, wore a frock of biege crepe de chine trimmed with Vandykes of ecru lnce and an orchid mauve crinoline hat. The bridgegroom's mother, Mrs. Bezar wore a cedar rose crepe do chine frock and hat of the same shade. Both carried bouquets to tone with their frocks. At !he reception which was held by Mr. anu Mrs. Davidson, the guests included Major 11. T\ Warnock, the bridegroom's battery commander.
