NEW SOUTH WALES GIFT. £7OOO TO BE PAID AT ONCE. The New South Wales Government will pay immediately the £2.500 promised to Messrs. Kingsford Smith and C. T, P. Ulni for their flight across the Pacific, and the £4500 guaranteed by the Lang Government as soon as certain legal difliculties have been removed. The Premier, Mr. lkivin, gave this assurance to a deputation of returned soldiers which waited on him in Sydney last week. On being assured by the deputation that there was a legal formula under which the whole of the money could be paid at once, Mr. Bavin said thai, if he wits given this formula, he would make the payment immediately.
