OFFICERS FOR NEW SEASON

The I won I y first, annual meet-ins °f 'he Auckland Centre of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association wan held Inst evening. Mr. W Batty being voted to the chui r. The annniil report congratulated members on a fairly successful season. Prospects for the ensuing year looked brush-. len clubs were affiliated last season, and all held one or more carnivals. The cent re also conducted a successful carnival in aid of the Olympics Games fund. Auckland wan represented by a- small but select learn at tho New Zealand championships in Dunedin. and. although not successful in retaining both shields, the team won several championships. It was hoped the centre would become affiliated to the Olympic Club, which was being formed in Auckland, and an many swimming enthusiasts as possible would become. members. A recommendation was to bo made to the incoming committee that a first-claf-s handicap be included in a'l! future programmes. This would appeal to the public aa well as improve the standard of swimming. Congratulations were extended to Miss Ena Stock ley on her selection to represent New Zealand at the Olympic: Carries, and also on being asked to visit Australia with Miss K. Miller. It was anticipated that in the next few months a bath reported to be tins best in New Zealand would be established at Point Chevalier by Dixieland. Limited..
