The weather yesterday was very hot for the grade cricket matches, and the wickets were fast. Playing for Gordon against Glebe Watson scored 117 and Gerdes 88. For Randwick against Cumberland S. .Donnan, a promising colt, scored 110 and McCristal (not out) 99. For the Northern Districts against Paddington Buckle scored 143, and for Waverley against Merrickville Lewis made 104. For Balmain against Merrickville, a brilliant colt, A, Jackson, scored 158. Hooker captured seven wickets for 80- runs. In the Melbourne games, playing for Fitzroy against University, Licidicufc (not out) made 132. For Melbourne against South Melbourne Onyons scored 93 and Sandford 99. AUSTRALIA IT BOXING MATCHES. A FIGHTER DISQUALIFIED. Australian aud Jff.Z. Cable Association. (Seed. 7,35 p.m.) SYDNEY. Nov. 14. At the Stadium last evening a French boxer, Ivan Laffineur, knooked out Gordon Kiely in the fifteenth round. The loser was easily the better fighter and was leading strongly on points against the more crude performer when he managed to stop a heavy swing which ended the fight. At Melbourne Teddy Murton won on a foul in the ninth round against the negro, Ansel Bell. The latter swung a low blnw which dropped Murton. Bell was disqualified. TILDES AND HIS PLANS. If Australia will accept Tilden in the dual role of actor and tennis player the former national tennis champion may visit the Commonwealth after his contemplated visit to Europe next year.
