NO SURPLUS FUNDS.
new south wales state. LABOUR PREMIER'S STATEMENT* A. and N.Z. SYDNEY. Juno 20. The 'new Labour Premier of New Ronlh Wales, Mr. J. T. Lang, elates that there is no surplus in tho State finances. His inquiries had made it clear that if tho Treasury prepared its accounts in tho wav honourable, business men did no surplus could be shown. Various statements had been made to the efTecL that tho Fuller Government had left a surplus of £500,000. Any business could show a surplus if it omitted from its accounts sufficient liabilities, remarked Mr. Lang.
