MILITARY ANNOUNCEMENTS
STAFF COLLEGE VACANCIES. COMING EXAMINATIONS. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPON DENT. ] LONDON, May 14. Of interest to the officers of the New Zealand Permanent Forces are the accompanying official announcements: —• An examination for entrance to the staff colleges at Camberley and Quetta will be held in February-March, 1926, for the course commencing in January, 1927. Of the 42 vacancies open for competition for the Staff College, Camberley, 15 are allotted to the infantry, seven to the Royal Artillery, six each to the Indian Army and forces of the overseas Dominions, two each to the cavalry and Royal Engineers, and one each the Royal Corps of Signals, Royal Tank Corps, Royal Army Service Corps, and Royal Marines. In addition to these, the Army Council i\'ill o/fer about, 21 vacancies for the Staff College, Camberley, to be filled by nomination from the British Army, the Indian Army, the Royal Navy, and the Royal Air Force. To become elegihle for nomination, officers of the British and Indian Armies will be required to qualify in the obligatory subjects at the entrance examination. Vacancies for the Staff College, Quetta, are in the hands of the commander-in-Chief, India. It has been decided that, beginning with the 1925 course, the duration of the gunnery staff course will in future be 12 months instead of two years as at present. This change will not affect the duration of the two years' course which commenced in November last.
