DEATH OF CHIEFTAINESS.
GREAT AGE OF 103 YEARS. [BI TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] ' TE KUITI. Thursday. It is reported from Ongarue that Tahutopuni Waata, an old chieftainess of highest rank in the Maniapoto tribe, aged 103 years, has died. Maoris are assembling m large numbers to attend the tangi. Deceased was a descendant on her mother's side from the well-known Ngati Rangatohi. of Taumarunui.
