EMPLOYEES' PICNIC.
The first staff picnic held by Messrs. A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd.. took place on Saturday to Buckland'.i Beach. About 200 persons attended the nicnic, and an enjoyable day was spent. In the moraine: swimming races were held, and in the afternoon flat races and a tug-of-war. Prizes were presented to the winneis. Music was supplied bv an orchestral band. On arrival at the Aurkland wharf the managing director. Mr. S. A. Longnet, expressed his approval and pleasure at the picnic and the hope that the fixture would become an annual one. He complimented members of the Picnic Committee on their good work.
