LETTERS TO THE EDITOR.
THE CRAMPTON CASE. Sir,— I express my hearty agreement with the verdict in the Cram Dion case? I know I am voicing the opinion of thousands of people in this 'country, especially the mothers of loyal and true soldiers. The whole trial was a ridiculous waste of public time and money. It would ba just as sensible to set up a commission to inquire into the case of every mother who gives her bad 'little boy a slap foe refusing to take his bath. The Mother of Form Soldiers.
MUNICIPAL CHOIR. Sir,—The advent of a municipal choir is a decided forward movement, in the matter of music in this city, and should be welcomed by all progressive citizens. At tho present time thousands of pounds are being spent annually on parks and open spaces which are free to the public for their enjoyment, and, in the same spirit, why should we .not provide the finest music for the benefit of the public? The presidert of the Auckland Choral Society, in his letter which appeared in to-day's issue, expresses the opinion that the municipal choir project would mean the end of tha Choral Sooiety. I think an injustice is done to our Auckland Choral Society by anticipating such a result. Tho Choral Society has stood the test of many rivals during its fxisttneo, and will, no doubt, continue to be a leading musical organic-. tion in this town. I do not think th-'Jfc tho members or subscribers to our low society will do anything else but weleoms the advent of another musical organisation in our midst. Auckland is rapidly progressing in evory way at the present time, and a municipal' choir is in keeping with such progress. Saotei, Adams.
