[HT TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESrONDEKT.]
ROTORUA. Monday. The Acting-Primo Minister and Minister for Defence, Sir James Allen, prior to leaving Rotorua for Wellington this afternoon, stated that the belief that the Government intended to withdraw the soldiers from the sanatorium was incorrect. The sanatorium was to be improved, ,ind one or two wards were to be added to the King George V. Hospital, the money being provided by Mr. T. H. Lowry's donation of £1000. It was the intention of the Government to teach the returned men various trades, and it was hoped that the residents of llotorua would assist by permitting the soldiers to use the facilities at their establishments, such, for instance, as motor garages. The Government, he added, proposed erecting i workshop at the King George V. Hospital.
