GENERAL FOCH'S COMMENT ON THE BATTLE.
TOOK TEN BAYS TO STOP FIRST GERMAN" THRUST. ARMY HAS FULL CONFIDENCE IN ITS COMMANDERS. Beu<,,r _ PARIS, June 2. M. Daubiny, a member of the Chamber of Deputies and of the Army Commission, has returned from the front. He states that General Foch told him that after the offensive of March 21 it took eight to ten days to re-establish the situation. The present offensive began on Monday, and this was the sixth day. General Foch added: " Draw your own conclusion." This is interpreted to mean that General Foch thinks that in a few days the enemy will be stopped and the situation will be re-established. M. Daubiny states that it is the unanimous opinion at the front that full confidence must be reposed in Generals Foch and Petain.
