LONDON, April 28—4.30 p.m. A French communique reports There was violent artillery activity last night north of the Avre and between Lassigny and Noyon. We made two successful raids north of the Chemin des l>imes and repulsed attempts north-west of Rheims and in sectors by St. Mihiel, Luneville, on the Lorraine border, and Bois le Pretre, east of St. Mihiel.
