THE ITALIAN FRANCHISE.
EXTENSION FOR SOLDIERS.
(Received 7.30 p.m.) Times. ROME, April 28. The Government has extended the franchise to soldiers and ex-soldiers irrespective of age.
An Italian electoral law of 1912 made suffrage almost universal for men 21 years of age, but denied the franchise to those under 30 years of age who had not performed their military service or had not learned to read and write.
