"r * -• Sir Douglas Haig reports: A hostile attack v/as developing this afternoon in the neighbourhood of Locre, three miles north-east of Bailleul. Otherwise there have been only local engagements. The enemy heavily bombarded positions in the Ypres sector. Only two flights were made yesterday, owing to fog. We ought do v . a two enemy machines. An earlier report stated: The enemy captured Voormezeele, two It- miles south of Ypres, last evening, but a counter-attack early at night iw . drove him cut. The enemy reattacked later in the same locality. Local fighting proceeded all night on both sides of the Ypres-Comines Canal. We raided south-west of Gavrelle, 4$ miles north-east of 3'' Arras, and at Lens in the Hill 70 sector, and repulsed an attempted raid north of Bailleul. Active reciprocal artillery firing is proceeding •v. .on the battlefront.
