PROFITS OF SPECULATORS.
POOR CANADIAN CROP. -
Aust and N.Z Cable. CHICAGO. August 20. The speculators who cornered wheat on the Chicago Exchange pocketed miUions as a result of their operations. On the Winnipeg Exchange (Canada) wheat was sold for 155 cents cash, which establishes a new record. It l- prophesied that there will be a shortage in the crop this season. Tremendous damage has been done by hail and black-rust in Dakota and parts cf I Western Canada.
