SHROPSHIRE INDUSTRY.
j MBYTES MINES REOPENED j LONDON. JUNE 25. I Several barytes mines in Shropshire, on the Welsh border, have j been reopened, and new shafts have ! been sunk.
Barytes is the native sulphate of barium, called also " heavy spar," and is used in the manufacture of white paint.
