WATERSIDE WORKERS' HOURS
DECISION OF LYTTELTON UNION.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, Tuesday. As the result of a ballot, the Lyttelton watersiders decided, by 310 to 20, in favour of work on the wharf being confined to from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., but to leave the matter in the hands of members individually. In accordance with this decision, work on the Kauri, with coal from New «istle, and two other vessels ceased at ten o'clock. The union also decided tr"»t the new hours clause be the basis of | the new agreement to be drawn up when | the present agreement expires in June.
