In the afternoon he spoke to a meeting of ladies interested in various patriotic movements and members of the Patriotic and War Relief and St. John Ambulance Associations at the Town Hail. The rest of the day was spent in the reception of deputations at the Ministers' rooms, and in the transaction of Departmental business. Mr. Russell left in the evening for Hamilton to consult there with the hospital authorities of the Waikato.
