LEGAL OPINION GIVEN.
By Telegraph.—Press Association.—Copyright.
London, April 26. In.an interview yesterday regarding the Tasmanian crisis, Sir Frederich Pollock, the noted jurist, said he had not heard of a precedent for the action by Sir W. EllisonMacartney (Governor of the island State).
Although the Crown's prerogative to dissolve Parliament existed, it was not used. He did not think that the Governor had any right to attach conditions to the formation of the Ministry, and added that the Assembly's vote of censure went near to asking for the Governor's recall.
